Rise, desert man

I confess right up front that I was all prepared to read a mediocre novel when I got a copy of this book, based primarily on the fact that the book is from a relatively new author about whom I had not heard before with this being his first book. After reading the first page, I was amazed and could not put the book down.

This book is remarkably well written; specifically Strauss' use of words, sentence structure and useful detail. It's rich in plot which drives the reader to consider the virtues of peace versus vengence.

Having spent the past 9 years flying a private 727 for a royal family in the Middle East, this intriguing and well thought out novel by Ron Strauss captured all of my attention. He makes the reader see and smell as if they were there in person.
